Water Update 9.17.21

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Update: 9.17.21: This week the water department was working to rectify water issues throughout the borough.  The flushing of hydrants helped expel sediment through the distribution system and should have cleared up any discolored or cloudy water that residents had reported.  If you are still experiencing issues with your water please contact the borough at 570-421-8300 and press #2 to be directed to the office staff.  The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  If you contact us after hours or over the weekend, please be sure to leave a detailed message, including your name, address, the exact issue with your water, and a contact phone number so we can call you back.

The water department has been made aware of water issues throughout the borough and they are currently working on rectifying the problem.  You may be experiencing discolored or cloudy water from your faucets.  If you run the cold water for a few minutes, it will allow the sediment to work its way through your pipes and will begin to run clear.  The borough employees will be flushing hydrants throughout town to expel any sediment through the distribution system.  While hydrants are running in your area, you may experience water discoloration and slight pressure fluctuations.  Avoid running your dishwasher or washing machine while crews are flushing in your area.

Thank you for your understanding and patience while the water department continues to work on this issue.
